ICTRC's History

Information and Communication Technology Research Centre (ICTRC) under Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education was first setup with a vision to produce IT manpower ready to take on challenges of ever changing demands of IT industries and conducting industrial needed research to achieve greater economic and social impact on the whole nation. Under ICTRC, India-Myanmar Centre for Enhancement of Information Technology Skills (IMCEITS) is being run by the government in cooperation with India and Information and Communication Technology Training Institute (ICTTI) is being run in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). These two training institutes provide advanced courses to develop ICT engineers to get employment opportunities with ICT skills.

Our Mission

  • Coordinating and conducting applied research in the aspects of ICT and its applications.
  • To carry out ICT related research by collaboration with local and international organizations to effectively use at IT industries.
  • To produce well-qualified IT specialists to conduct research by providing industry oriented ICT training programs to graduates and staffs from universities and ministries.
  • Providing advanced courses to develop ICT engineers to get employment opportunities with ICT skills.
  • Providing technical excellence and leadership in use of ICT for the industry and the society.
  • To support in laying down the policies and projects of the state by carrying out researches.
